Request a review in the pull request conversation

Why use interactive comments

  • Request a review without leaving the pull request
  • Re-run a review after you address earlier feedback
  • Run a review on a large pull request that automatic review skipped
  • See the exact command syntax from the pull request

How to interact with Angada

Angada responds to a top-level comment in the pull request's Conversation tab. It does not act on replies inside an inline review thread.

Tag it directly

Mention @angada-ai in the comment, using the exact handle.

Angada is a GitHub App, so it does not appear in GitHub's @ mention autocomplete. GitHub does not list apps there. Type @angada-ai manually and it works.

Who can use commands

Mention commands are available to members of the Angada workspace roster. The owner of a personal GitHub App installation is also eligible. If you are not eligible, Angada reacts ๐Ÿ˜• and does not post a public refusal comment.

What you can do

Request a review

Comment syntaxResult
@angada-ai reviewRequests a full review of the current pull request head. If the head is eligible, Angada reacts with ๐Ÿ‘€ and starts the review.
@angada-aiRequests the same review as @angada-ai review.
@angada-ai helpAngada replies with the available comment syntax. It does not start a review.
@angada-ai ?Shows the same help as @angada-ai help.

A manual @angada-ai review bypasses the 150 changed-file ceiling that stops automatic review. It still respects review settings, permissions, rolling caps, and available credits.

When Angada can't review

If a review cannot start and you are eligible, Angada replies with the reason. Eligibility can depend on the pull request state, review settings, permissions, limits, and available credits. An unknown or unsupported verb gets ๐Ÿ˜• with a reply; use @angada-ai review to request a review or @angada-ai help to see the commands. See Troubleshoot a review and Limits and caps.

Deepreview

For complex or high-impact changes, Angada offers Deepreview, a more thorough review tier. It is not available as a comment command.

Deepreview is in private beta. Contact Angada support to ask whether your workspace can access it.

Request a fix

Angada does not edit code from a comment. To continue a finding in a coding agent, use the Fix in โ€ฆ link on the finding. See Coding agents.

Finding outcomes

When enabled, resolving or dismissing a finding in GitHub helps Angada keep follow-up reviews focused when it matches that finding on a later head. See Understand a review for how findings appear across pushes.

Tips and best practices

  • Use the exact handle โ€” Type @angada-ai; it will not autocomplete.
  • Comment at the top level โ€” Post in the Conversation tab, not an inline review thread.
  • Check eligibility โ€” You must be on the workspace roster or own the personal GitHub App installation.
  • Ask for help โ€” @angada-ai help lists the supported commands.
